By now we hope you have all received the letter from our office regarding the 2006 Fringe Benefits Tax Calculation. The fringe benefits tax year ends on 31st March 2006 and if an FBT return is required it needs to be lodged with the Australian Taxation Office by 28th May 2006. Please contact your manager if you haven't received this information in the mail or if you would like to discuss anything FBT related.

The ATO has the ability to make directors personally liable for un-remitted tax deductions.

The ATO is issuing Director Penalty Notices directly to the home of company directors.  Failure to comply with the notice will cause the director to be personally liable for a penalty equal to his or her company’s unpaid remittance amount. For full article click here.
